Today was the first official FULL day of fall. I am actually really excited about it… I absolutely love fall. The weather is gorgeous (perfect for running, too!), I love fall foods and the smells that come with it 😉 It is such a warming and comforting season, is it not? Anyways… so today my Biology of Mammals class took a trip to Oregon Ridge. My roommate Becky, my friend Mike, and I searched for sitings/evidence of mammals. We really didnt find anything too exciting besides some deer foot prints, scat (a fancy word for POOP), evidence of chipmunks (bite marks/hair on acorns), chipmunks, squirrels, and some living quarters of mammals. Mike did capture this HUGE toad. pretty awesome…too bad it was not a mammal! haha
Tonight for dinner I whipped up some pasta sauce
And had it with this…
I made ALOT Of pasta…very filling and very delicioso! andddd my pasta sauce came out the best yet!! made me happy. I have only made it all by myself a couple of times.
While the pasta was cooking away on the stovetop, I walked about for about t-10 seconds and this occured:
Apparently, the ziploc lid was veryyyy close to the burners….and the burners may or may not have melted the lid. R.I.P. ziploc container lid …you have served me well and you will be missed 😦
Very excited for this week to come to an end! Yesterday I woke up at 7:30 and did not return home until 7:30 that night. Today was only slightly less hectic than yesterday. needless to say, tuesday and wednesday are not my favorite days of the week! Tomorrow should be a good day and then it is finally friday. Fridays are something I look forward to…because (a) its friday, and who doesnt love fridays (b) I get to completely relax because on Fridays I do not go “out” because I have my long run for marathon training on saturday …its more important to me to be rested for that and not…well…tired/hungover. I like staying in, wearing my slippers, cuddling up on the couch with some tea,you know the drill. and (c) i have my friday lunch dates with my favorite people rosina and meg (my frosh year roommate/went to HS with me)! and (d) I am as excited as a little kid on christmas eve thinking of my saturday morning long run (15 miles this week) followed by oneworldcafe smoothie and a whole foods trip…woop woop! okay maybe not AS excited as a kid on christmas eve…but I do get excited for it! And then saturday night I will most likely be going out with the roommates and having a grand old time in the city of baltimore 😉
Off to study physics and microbiology…it never ends! hope you guys enjoyed your first official day of fall!
❤ Christina
Ugh, I despise loooong days too 😦
Between classes and everything else, it IS especially nice to veg out completely on the weekend (after the long run of course!)
i ❤ your friday night plan. and field trips. college needs to incorporate more of them!
so jealous of your field trip. we went on one last semester for geology but it was really lame and there was math involved. so it was double lame. sorry about your ziplock containers! pasta looks fabulouuss fresh broc or frozen?
fresh!
I love the fall too, everything about it is great and one of my favorite things is pumpkins the flavor, the seeds, and of course carving them too. Pasta sauce looks amazing! Good luck on your long run!
ahh that happens to some of my cheap tuppeware sometimes in the dishwasher! it shrinks or melts like that 😦 so sad!
i get siked for a good whole foods trip as well! the fall is the best time of year! such pretty colors surrounding you and the food aint bad either 🙂
I had a dinner almost exactly like that! Whole wheat penne, chicken, brocolli, squash, spinach, red sauce, and parm cheese!
I love your “nature walk”! Any mention of Oregon and pasta in the same post will grab my attention!
Ha! It was like 1oo degrees here in central cali today! So, not so fally yet here. The evenings are getting cooler though, so that’s nice. I can’t wait for Friday yet either. Only one more day!
amen to Friday night relaxations..I find myself doing that alot on the weekends! not just Friday. What can I say. I’m old 😉 That pasta looks delish by the way!
